Come and enjoy live band performances in the open air this summer.  Windsor, Eton & Ascot Town Centre Partnership presents Windsor’s Live at the Bandstand programme 2024.

There will be a series of musical performances each weekend between Saturday 15 June and Sunday 15 September 2024 at the bandstand in Alexandra Gardens.  Performances will take place between 2pm and 4pm, unless otherwise stated.

Family, friends and music lovers are all invited to bring a picnic and enjoy some great music in Windsor’s Alexandra Gardens.

This event is free.  We'll be posting more details on the bands that will be performing, so please check back for the latest information!

Sat     10-Aug-24    The BIG Sing: 11.45 Long Walk | 14.30 Alexandra Gardens Bandstand | 16.30 outside Windsor Castle (on the grass moat, in front of Salisbury Tower)

The BIG Sing are fresh from performing on Britain’s GOT Talent in 2023 where they got four yesses from the judges! Having performed alongside some BIG names already including Mica Paris, David Grant, Ellie Goulding, London Community Gospel Choir and Leona Lewis, they are on a mission to get Britain singing! In addition to their afternoon Bandstand performance at 14:30, you can also see them perform on the Long Walk (11:45) and on the grass moat outside Windsor Castle's Salisbury Tower (16:30).  Come and hear their pop, gospel, soul and inspirational songs that will leave you feeling happy and uplifted – you can even sing along!  See more information about The BIG Sing on their website.

The Windsor Ukulele Band meet on Tuesday evenings (7.00pm) at The Swan, Clewer. Everyone is welcome from beginners to seasoned players. We play songs that we like and we have fun. Playing music together with other people is a fantastic creative outlet and a great way to make new friends and improve your Ukulele skills.

‘Reign’ are an exhilarating young cover band with a wide variety of song choices and genres ranging from Classic Rock, Brit Pop to Nineties Grunge and Heavy Metal - each and every rock fan is guaranteed to satisfied! The group met doing music GCSE, and have since played at Rock the Rec Festival (Windsor), Windsor and Eton Brewery, The Outlook (Reading), The Old Court (Windsor), The Acoustic Couch (Bracknell), and on The Long Walk (Windsor) in front of five thousand people for the King’s coronation.This young band from Windsor showcase a magnificent collection of rock n roll songs - full of free-spirit, this is a group no music lover can afford to miss!

Waltham St Lawrence Silver Band is an inclusive non-contesting brass band, providing an opportunity for players at all levels to come together and make music for themselves and the public. We regularly play at local events and on bandstands, and aim to present several indoor concerts each year. We meet for rehearsals on Wednesday evenings 8.00-10.00 at the Neville Hall, Waltham St Lawrence, RG10 0JJ. New players are always welcome! Sun    25-Aug-24    The Supertonics Big Band
We present the famous Supertonics Big Band, renowned for their sell-out shows across East Berkshire, including South Hill Park Arts Centre and Carnation Hall in Bracknell. The band will perform an entertaining mix of well-known big band swing music (Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington). Plus popular jazz arranged for big band, music from musicals & the movies, even some rock & roll. The 17-piece band consists of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section of piano, guitar, bass, and drums. The band is passionate about performing, and works hard to present an enjoyable high-energy show. Don't miss it.

SAXOPHONY is a saxophone  quartet based in Surrey. We play audience-friendly music, both old and new, and have played at various bandstands and events throughout South East England, from Berks to Essex, Hants to Surrey and E. Sussex.

Sun    01-Sep-24    Sandhurst Silver Band
Sandhurst Silver Band is a contesting band in the Championship section of the London and Southern Counties Region, and currently ranked in the top 100 bands globally.  Sandhurst Silver was formed in 1908 by the Coombs family of Albion Road and has been an integral part of the local community ever since. The band has been competing regularly since the 1920s, with highlights such as qualifying for the National Finals 5 years running between 2001 and 2005, Butlins Mineworkers Festival First Section in 2014, and returning to the championship section again in 2023.  The band are the current Leicester Association Champions.  In 2024 the band attended the annual Whit Friday march competition in Saddleworth, finishing 12th out of 170 bands.  Alongside competitions, the band perform concerts during the year and are always looking for new projects to promote live music making in and around Berkshire.  Recent highlights have included performing the live soundtrack to the Christmas classic ‘The Snowman’, and a collaboration with Lorna Timms Theatre Arts.  The current band room was built by members in 1958 in Brookside, where the band still practices today, along with the other bands associated with the Sandhurst organisation – Sandhurst Community Brass, and our training band Brasshoppers.  The band also feature a brass quintet and a Bavarian style beer band.

Windsor Learning Partnership Music Department presents A Family Music Picnic featuring students from The Windsor Boys’ School and Windsor Girls school, as well as a choir of students from WLP Schools.

Sun    08-Sep-24    Barnes Concert Band
Barnes Concert Band was formed in the 1970s by a small group of local residents in Barnes, South West London.  There are now 40 very committed amateur players aged 18 - 82 playing in a traditional concert band with woodwind, brass and percussion sections.  The repertoire spans classical music, big band, musicals and compositions for concert band by contemporary composers such as Adam Gorb and Nigel Hess.  Under the baton of our Musica Director, Daryle Lowden, we are delighted to make a return visit to Alexandra Park in Windsor to entertain with toe-tapping music for a late summer’s afternoon.

Sat     14-Sep-24    RAF Halton Voluntary Band
We are a concert/military band based at RAF Halton in Wendover, near Aylesbury.  Its members come from all walks of life, including the Armed Forces and the Civil Service. The majority of the band are local civilians who travel from a wide area to meet for rehearsals. Our main aim is to support the RAF and sister services, hence we wear RAF uniform (which is provided free of charge). Having said that, the majority of our band engagements are playing in various parks during the summer months. For more info please visit our website.
