Norden Farm Kite Festival

About

Norden Farm Centre for the Arts brings The Kite Festival to Boyn Grove Park (Punt Hill) on Sunday 1 September between 12pm and 4pm. Round off the summer holidays in style with an afternoon of fun for all the community!

A full line up of entertainment includes music, live dance and performance, plus a bar and local food stalls, and of course kite flying. Entry to the festival is free.

Bring your own kite – either homemade at one of our workshops or shop bought – and take it to the skies. Or buy a kit on the day and decorate your kite on your picnic blanket!

Opening this year's festival are The Rymatones. The five piece band are based in Maidenhead and High Wycombe. They perform 1950s rock n roll classics by Buddy Holly, Elvis, The Beach Boys and more.

Also on the line up is critically acclaimed musician and song writer Ajay Srivastav. His music reflects the life and lessons learnt as a British born artist of Indian heritage. He is joined by a tabla player and his unique rootsy guitar style is layered with inflections of sitar and sarod.

This year’s live performance headliner is Levantes Dance Theatre who present High Tea (with a twist). Dressed to impress as always, the Canape Art twins perform dance and acrobatics above a tastefully laid tea table, and mingle with the crowd for selfies and a cuppa.

Mariachi las Adelitas – the only female Mariachi band in Europe will be regaling visitors around the festival.

Live music comes from Euphoria who will be performing high energy/rock and indie covers. They have performed together since school playing at various musical events, including FiFest and Rock the Rec.

There will be expert kite flying displays from the White Horse Flying Club. Plus story telling from National Poetry Day ambassador and acclaimed children’s poet Simon Mole.

Enjoy a day of entertainment, plus food, drink and of course kite flying!
