An ancient market and coaching town delightfully situated on the picturesque River Wey, where to this day cattle graze on the waterside meadows and canal boats rest up against the wharf.

Godalming is located just 4 miles South West of Guildford, in some of the finest countryside in southern England.  It's attractive narrow streets, lined with many ancient and historic buildings, make this an attractive town to visit.  Served by two railway stations with direct routes to London Waterloo, Godalming is a popular and easy escape out of London. 

Unique, historic and interesting architecture can be found in abundance in the High Street and Church Street, the town is home to 350 listed building.  Look out for Brook House, were Percy Woods, Godalming Historian was born in 1842, the Pepperpot once the Town Hall, it dates from 1814, on the right is the former Old White Hart Inn (16thC) timber framed, which is where it is reputed that Dick Turpin stayed for a night!  Pop into Godalming Visitor Information Centre to find out more (located inside Godalming Museum). The museum celebrates the work of Gertrude Jekyll, garden designer for Edwin Lutyens’ who has many commissions in the area, as well as Jack Phillips, the wireless operator on the Titanic.  Stop by to discover the towns history, artefacts and photographs, there's also a small coffee shop and garden here too that was built during the coronvirius lockdown.
