Discover more about the iconic hovercraft which takes passengers on their daily commute or for a day visit to the Isle of Wight from Portsmouth. The behind the scenes tour is offers the chance to get up close and personal and learn more about our impressive hovercraft fleet and its operational procedures.
Lasting approximately 60 minutes, the behind the scenes tour is led by one of the experienced team members and offers the chance to take a glimpse into the inner workings of a hovercraft and the history of this fascinating mode of transport.
Taking passengers just 10 minutes to cross between Ryde and Southsea, this iconic mode of transport can be seen regularly crossing The Solent. Hovertravel is the world's longest running commercial hovercraft service and is the only scheduled passenger hovercraft service in the Europe and one of the fastest ways to cross from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight or visa versa.
