Sandy beach at Seagrove Bay, Isle of Wight, Things to Do

About

Seagrove Bay sits between Seaview beach and Priory Bay on the north east coast and boasts some of the largest and most imposing seaside properties on the Isle of Wight.

When the tide is out Seagrove Bay has a large expanse of golden sands, making it popular for a whole range of beach activities and watersports. There is also a slipway running down into the sea which is a regular launching platform for boats.

The seawall at the rear of the beach leads to Priory Bay, which is owned by the Priory Bay Hotel above the high water mark. There are toilet facilities at the bottom of the lane which leads down to the beach.

Top tips

The beach all but disappears at high tide, so it’s worth checking the tide times before heading to Seagrove Bay. If you do arrive at high tide you can sit on the sea wall and soak up the view until the water recedes revealing the golden sands.

Getting there

Take the number 8 bus into Nettlestone and walk down to the beach, or if you are bringing a car park in Seaview and walk along as the parking at the back of the beach is very limited.
