Built during the reign of Elizabeth 1, take a tour of Sandwich Guildhall. The Guildhall has been enlarged and modified in more recent times and the tour includes visits to the ancient Court Room, Council Chamber and Mayor's Parlour.
The present Guildhall was built in 1579 and is the third Guildhall, the previous one being sited in what is now St. Peter's Churchyard.
The original Guildhall almost certainly stood between King Street and The Chain, in the area behind the Old Parsonage.
Guided tour £5 per person. Tours available by appointment only and there is a minimum tour fee of £20 – to book contact Sandwich Town Council.
