Dover
The Deal Memorial Bandstand is a memorial to the 11 Royal Marine musicians who were killed in an explosion at their barracks in Deal on 22nd September 1989.
It forms a ‘living’ Royal Marines Memorial to those who died. Eleven sides of the twelve-sided Bandstand structure have engraved tablets bearing the names of those who lost their lives.
The Deal Memorial Bandstand Trust stages a series of 'free' public concerts on the Bandstand on Sunday afternoons between May and September each year.
