Field Place is a fine 18th Century Manor House set in eight acres of spacious grounds. It is an ideal venue for conferences, seminars, meetings, wedding receptions, birthday parties and theatre productions (in the Barn Theatre or in the grounds) .
It also offers a wide range of sports facilities:
Tennis (6 all weather courts); Table Tennis; Bowls; Putting on a 9-hole putting green; Netball; Petanque pistes (similar to French 'Boules') and there are fitness classes and arts and pottery classes.
It is home to the Worthing & District Society of Model Engineers and their regular running of miniature trains. Children are fascinated to see real coal shovelled onto a roaring fire, and loud whistles, the hiss of escaping steam and the smell of hot oil bring back memories of times past.
The train drivers (many of whom build their own locomotives) are only too happy to explain how it all works as the run along the quarter mile track. It’s a great place for a family picnic with the children's play area nearby. (Look at our events pages for details of these running days – events).
Field Place is just off of the Strand Parade roundabout in West Worthing. From the A2032 (Worthing- Littlehampton road turn south at the Centenary House roundabout. Continue over the first roundabout and at the second roundabout take the left exit for Field Place. From the A259 east/west turn north at the traffic lights with Shaftesbury Avenue, cross the railway over the bridge and turning right at the Strand Parade roundabout.
