The Cherwell Boathouse is an iconic restaurant and punt station close to the centre Oxford. Established in 1904 and it has been a family run for over 50 years as a working Boathouse and restaurant with over 80 handmade punts in the water.
Punting can be the perfect occasion for families , groups , romantic couples , it is a truly timeless, slightly eccentric, quintessentially Oxford, idyllic pleasure: sailing leisurely upstream or down river, trailing fingers in the silky water, admiring the wildlife, picnicking on a river bank, dropping in at the Vicky Arms or drifting downstream past the University parks . The punting season is mid March to mid October open ten am till dusk.
Cherwell Boathouse is at bottom of Bardwell road , next to Dragon school playing fields .
Bardwell road is off Banbury - half way between the town centre and Summertown .
5 minute walk from Banbury road bus stop @ Bardwell road- between town and Summertown .
20 minutes walk through University parks from town centre .
