Visit Henley on Thames - home of the Royal Regatta, and explore its abundance of shops, 15th century Chantry House and St. Mary’s Parish Church dating from 1204. Re-live Kenneth Grahame’s riverside tale, ‘The Wind in the Willows’ at the award-winning River and Rowing Museum.
Close by is Wallingford; a market town situated on the banks of the River Thames. It was built by King Alfred in the ninth century and ruins of William the Conqueror’s castle can be visited. Nearby is Dorchester Abbey, which has been a site of worship for 1300 years.
Visit Didcot Railway Centre where its unique collection of Great Western steam engines and regular visitors Thomas and Friends will amuse all the family.
There is also ample opportunity to walk or cycle in the Chilterns, along the Thames Path, the Oxfordshire Cycle Way and The Ridgeway National Trail.
