Isle of Wight
Isle of Wight
Situated just off the south coast of England and only 2 hours from London via ferry or hovercraft - the Isle of Wight is simple to get to and a wonderful holiday destination all year round to explore.
Whether your holiday consists of walking through ancient forests and exploring spectacular downland, or discovering miles of award-winning sand and shingle beaches, rugged cliffs and hidden coves. The Isle of Wight is made for outdoor adventures.
If thrill-seeking is your game, get active with one of the many outdoor adventures and watersports available on the Island, whether it be kayaking round a famous landmark, para-gliding over the site of the world’s largest ever music festival or climbing to the top of a tree and soaking up panoramic views of the Solent.
If you love being by the sea, you will love the Island’s coastline. Boasting cliffs, coves, sandy beaches, secret inlets and hidden rock pools. From the sands of the East Wight at Sandown, Shanklin and Yaverland to the cove at Steephill and right around the West Wight to Compton Bay and Freshwater, you’ll be amazed at just how different the landscape becomes.
More than half of the Isle of Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so losing yourself in the countryside is one of the delights of exploring the isle. Its unspoilt landscape thrives with wildlife, from internationally important populations of Brent Geese, the endangered Red Squirrels to dragonflies buzzing between wildflowers. No wonder the island is just one of seven UNESCO Biosphere Reserves.
