CALLING ALL FOODIES……THE GREAT WIGHT BITE RETURNS!
On 7th & 8th September foodies will be flocking to Northwood House in Cowes for the return of the Great Wight Bite and weekend of culinary entertainment.
Packed with dozens of delicious street food, craft ales and artisan gins, rums and vodkas courtesy of distillery alchemists at Mermaid.
Returning to the festival is TV Foodie and writer Chris Bavin who will be hosting the Chefs Stage. Joining the line-up is broadcaster Valentine Warner and drinks writer and broadcaster Helena Nicklin who will be joining the chefs and heading up the Masterclass Stage which will be showcasing the island’s brewers and distillers.
The Little Chefs Den is back this year helping budding cooks of all ages creating a range of delicious dishes. Led by Ben & Holly Cooke from The Little Gloster and joined by the festival celebrities, there’s classic Spaghetti Carbonara, Katsu Chicken Curry or a show-stopping Raspberry Souffle for little ones. With an adult Sushi & Sake masterclass with GC from the Smoking Lobster.
Sponsored by Red Funnel, everyone will receive a festival chefs apron and little chefs get a finger guard thanks to Flint & Flame plus a certificate that will take price place on the fridge door. To book kids and adults classes click here.
Food lovers can expect surf n turf, scallops, mussels, seabass, oysters, crayfish, Nordic Smoked Flammach, crispy duck, Mexican and Asian street food dishes, the ultimate mac n cheese, Paella and Caribbean to name just a few! The festival is also joined by Braai, the summer pop-up curated by The Heron’s Alex Kimber.
The House restaurant in Cowes High Street will feature as a pop-up restaurant at the festival. This will be led by the talented Head Chef Matt Egan who will be cooking over fire. To view the menu and book a table click here.
Expect live music across the two days with Saturday hosting ‘Ultimate Elton’ tribute night.
There’s also a 20% discount on Red Jet and Ferry crossings for anyone from the mainland over the festival weekend. So head across the water and feast from around the Island!
