Dont miss the chance to wave of the entries to this year Rolex Fastnet Race on Saturday 26 July 2025 from Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, and this edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race is certain to be a special one having grown to become the world's biggest offshort race with over 400 yachts in 2023. Starting in Cowes, the 695 mile course takes compeditors to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, France.
The race starts from one of yachting’s most famous locations: The Royal Yacht Squadron (The Squadron), Cowes on the Isle of Wight on Saturday 26th July 2025. The best vantage points for the start will be along Cowes Green and Egypt Esplanade on the Isle of Wight.
As the fleet funnels out of the Solent there will be a good chance to see the yachts from Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight and Hurst Castle on the mainland. Further along the coast Anvil Point, St Alban’s Head, and Portland Bill should also give a good view of the race on its outbound leg.
Who will follow in the footsteps of previous winners sunch as Plattner's Morning Glory (1997), Charles Dunstone's Nokia Connecting People (2003) or Niklas Zennstrom's Ran 2 (2009 - 2011).
Entries will span maxi yachts to former VO70s and VO65s of the Ocean Race, to leading grand prix 40 and 50 footers, to more casual weekend racers and family teams, plus others from sailing schools for whose crews the Rolex Fastnet Race is likely to represent the pinnacle of their sailing careers.
