Step into the peaceful surroundings of Belmont House and take time to be inspired by the seasonal beauty for this linocut workshop.
You'll begin the workshop in The Orangery, where your tutor, Rachel, will introduce you to the linocut process with a demonstration. Our Head Gardener will then talk through the foliage and flora she's carefully selected for the workshop.
Guiding you through basic design principles, Rachel will help you turn your sketches into a final composition. Whether you craft your own unique design or opt for one of our pre-made templates, you'll learn transfer techniques, understand image reversal, get hands-on carving your tile, and conclude by inking and hand-printing your linocut.
Although a garden tour is not included as part of the workshop, you are welcome to explore the grounds afterward. All materials, printing equipment, and light refreshments are provided. Just remember to bring along an apron or painting shirt, as well as a sketchbook and pencils. Our easy-carve postcard-sized linocut tiles (approximately 15cm x 10cm or 6" x 4") make this workshop ideal for beginners or those seeking a refresher. Once cleaned and dried, your linocut tile can be taken home and used to print again and again.
£45.00 per person.
