About

The Beachy Head Marathon is one the biggest off-road marathons in the UK. It starts and finished on Eastbourne Seafront and is now part of an event that also sees the Ultra-Marathon,10k and Half-marathon all take place over the same weekend with slight variations in course length and routes.

Formerly known as the Seven Sisters Marathon, it is popular for its scenic and challenging route through the South Downs National Park countryside. Great for runners, joggers or walkers looking to get fit.

Start time for the Marathon is 8.45am - 26th October

Ultra-Marathon start time is 7.40am - 26th October

Runners for this are invited to take on both the traditional Marathon route followed by the 10K route to create this endurance race with a total distance of approximately 52.6 kilometres. Entries are limited to just 200 spaces and, due to the challenging nature of this race, will only be accepted from runners that have previously completed a marathon within 5 hours.

10K is 9.15am - 26th October

Runners here take a shorter looping route across the Downs to Belle Tout Lighthouse and back.

Half Marathon start time is 8.00 am - 27th October

The route encompasses much of the marathon route, however will detour into new surroundings which still have that amazing, picturesque scenery.

If you are not a runner but keen to watch head here for great vantage points
