South Downs Way Walk

About

The South Downs Way 'In Stages 2011'. Walk the South Downs Way National Trail the easier way 'In Stages'. Four weekends during the months of April to July 2011.
This will be the 32nd year of this ever-popular event along the full 105 miles of our own beautiful National Trail; a trail which never climbs above a comfortable 800 feet, yet gives amazing views of over 30 miles in all directions.

And June is perhaps the month when the trail is at its most attractive. It's a time of orchids (lots of Lesser-Spotted and occasional glimpses of the rare Bee Orchid ) and of butterflies like the Chalk Hill Blue. And, of course, there's the delightful, ever-present sound of the Southdown sheep.

The event is organised by Per-Rambulations and allows walkers to be picked up by coach from various points along the south coast each morning, taken to the start of the day's walk and then returned to their pick-up point in the afternoon. It's the simplest and, perhaps most enjoyable way of completing the trail with the guaranteed companionship and security of walking in an organised event.

In addition to nine glorious days walking through England's new National Park there are also prize competitions every day; the daily 'Great Outdoors' quiz is sponsored by Regatta and nine lucky winners will each receive a new top-of-the-range rucksack; there's a 'Limerick Competition' and an M & S gift voucher for the best photo taken along the trail.
