NC3 - The North Cotswold Chamber Choir explores works by composers who have responded to conflict in the world by seeking to express peace, light and hope through their music.
The programme takes the listener on an immersive and emotive journey influenced by the Eastern Orthodox tradition, with its timeless chanting and sense of the sublime.
We will be singing works by John Tavener and Tchaikovsky, also by contemporary composers Galina Grigorjeva and Valentin Silvestrov, both born in Ukraine.
The music includes settings of the writings of James Joyce and Sara Teasdale. The choir will be directed by George Parris, Principal Conductor, and will be joined by cellist, Nicola Tait Baxter.
