About

- Find out what your favourite Roald Dahl child heroes like Matilda and Charlie have got for Christmas! Discover their stockings around the Museum and earn a special seasonal hero's stamp at the end. Pick up a free trail sheet from the ticket desk.

- Come and pull a Christmassy power-pose with our Matilda statue in the courtyard. As the nights have drawn in and the weather has turned cold, Matilda has donned her Christmas jumper. Why not gather round in your favourite seasonal sweater and take some photos? You can even dress up with some wintry accessories for your photo op.

- Enjoy some feel-good storytelling from The BFG and Matilda this Christmas! You'll hear extracts from the book featuring our child heroes Matilda and Sophie that transport you to magical worlds. Our expert storytellers will get you involved with plenty of actions and noises to help tell the story.

Storytelling takes place on the following days:
Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 December
Friday 27 to Monday 30 December
Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 January

Santa at the Roald Dahl Museum, Great Missenden
Saturday December 14, 2024
Father Christmas will be making appearances in the Museum galleries throughout the day. Will he pose with Matilda, measure up against his favourite Roald Dahl character or take a break in Roald Dahl's chair? One thing's for certain, you'll be able to come and say hello and pick a free chocolate treat.
This laid-back Santa day is perfect for kids who want a less formal Santa experience. Come and say hello or wave from afar! No set times to book or queues, but you may have to wait your turn at busy times.
You can also join in with storytelling from one of Santa's helpers in our Wondrous Woods room, enjoy drop-in Christmas crafts and complete our Child Heroes Christmas Trail in the galleries.
The Canny Cafe in the Courtyard will be open for treats, sandwiches and drinks.
For all ages.
Free with Museum entry. We recommend booking Museum entry in advance.
