The Beacon

About

The Beacon is a vibrant gathering place for the local community (named after the historic beacons along the town’s ancient Ridgeway) offering a varied programme of live events from cinema, music, theatre (including the National Theatre Live’s season) and comedy to a regular activity timetable of classes and workshops.

As one of the largest venues in the area and just a minute’s walk from Wantage’s town centre, we host a wide range of activities to suit people of all ages and interests. We also offer children’s party packages, wedding receptions and delegate packages for business, or you can host your own event or celebration. Our ground floor Coffee Shop is open every day with a selection of fresh cakes and sandwiches to accompany our locally sourced coffee and range of teas, and our bar, with a variety of beers, wines and spirits is open for events.

The team at The Beacon are here to provide a warm, welcoming service to ensure that your visit, whether to attend one of our events or as a hirer, goes perfectly. With a choice of rooms for hire, including a large 350-seat auditorium, two exercise studios and two other function rooms, The Beacon is the ultimate flexible modern space, whatever your requirements.
