Sandgate Beach

Kent
Sandgate beach has held the Seaside Award since 2013 and is a bijoux beach just a few metres from Sandgate High Street, easily accessed by bus, car, bicycle or on foot. Private dwellings on the waterfront create an intimate relationship between resident and visitor. Water sports - kayaking, wind sailing, rowing and bathing (when temperatures allow) are enjoyed in and out of season. The environment agency manages the beach, re-profiling it twice a year to protect this beautiful stretch of coastline. Showers, drinking water, public toilets, shops, cafes and pubs are all close by. The beach noticeboards provide information about safe bathing, sun care and first aid.
