Food for Friends - Brighton’s original vegetarian restaurant since 1981

Food for Friends is Brighton’s award-winning vegetarian restaurant in the historic South Lanes. The ethos is tasty, affordable and honest vegetarian, vegan and gluten free cooking using the freshest produce, totally homemade, whilst supporting local suppliers where possible.

Recent accolades include a position in the Good Food Guide 2016 and runner-up as Best Ethical Restaurant in the UK in the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2015. They were also named as among the best in the UK for good value dining by The Sunday Times and won Best Restaurant at the Brighton Food Awards 2012.

Cooking without meat relies more on flavour and unusual combinations, which is why Food for Friends is so popular with all lovers of fabulous food. They also cater for people with special dietary needs, with vegan and gluten-free options for many dishes on the menu.  The atmosphere is relaxed but attentive where you’ll be welcomed as a guest and leave as a friend. 

The restaurant offers a great value 2 and 3 course set menu, as well as afternoon tea with beautiful vegan and gluten free freshly baked cakes served with a huge variety of whole leaf teas.
