Christ Church is one of more than thirty colleges that make up the University of Oxford. Its college chapel is unique as it is also Oxford’s cathedral. Next to Christ Church is its Meadow, a large park open to the public with peaceful walks to the river and spaces to sit and relax. A boat trip on this river 150 years ago inspired one of Christ Church’s tutors to write the famous stories Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. The beautiful buildings of Christ Church have inspired many authors and film makers and is a popular setting for movies and tv shows. Tickets to visit Christ Church can be booked online or in person at its Visitor Centre, a thatched barn in the Meadow which also houses its gift shop. Details regarding the daily services held at the Cathedral may also be found on the Christ Church website www.chch.ox.ac.uk
