Alum Chine Beach

About

Alum Chine Beach is one of Bournemouth's most popular Blue Flag award-winning beaches. It is wide, clean, sandy and shingle beach situated to the west of Bournemouth, further along from Bournemouth Pier and the town centre. It gently slopes into the sea and has no major changes in tidal variations.

There is a pirate-themed large adventure playground, toilets with baby changing facilities, lost children centres, RNLI lifeguard stations, pubs and ice cream kiosks, making this beach popular with families. During the summer season or sunny days, use the Bournemouth Beach Checker App to see how busy all the beaches are along this 15 mile stretch.

This beach can be found near Alum Chine Tropical Gardens and is about a 20-minute walk along the seafront promenade. In the school holidays and summer months a land train normally runs as far as Branksome Chine, stopping at Alum Chine along the way.

Alum Chine Beach also holds the seaside award 2023
