About

You will find something for all the family in Kent's only designated museum. Exhibits of national and international are housed in the museum's galleries, which tells the story of Britain's explosive military history from the 1700s as well as the more local history of the Medway area which Royal Engineers have been involved with since the time of William the Conqueror.

We have a collection containing items from may different cultures and societies as well as a range of military vehicles including a harrier jump jet. There is something for everyone at this unique museum.

From Chatham centre take the A231 (Dock Road) to Gillingham, follow the A231 into Wood Street, at the roundabout, turn left at the traffic lights into Prince Arthur Road (B2004). The entrance to the Museum is on the left.


From Gillingham centre take the A231 (Brompton Road), turn right at the traffic lights into Prince Arthur Road (B2004).

Public Transport Directions

Nearest station is Gillingham or Chatham. Walk along Gillingham High Street, past Medway Park/ King Charles Hotel. The museum is on Prince Arthur Road.
