Home to superb sandy and shingle beaches, a bustling marina and harbour and stunning contemporary architecture, Littlehampton, in West Sussex can be found on England's sunny south coast. It's both the perfect place to enjoy a fun family holiday or to take time out to relax.

Littlehampton has two beaches, East Beach and West Beach. The Coastguards beach (East) in front of The Green is currently a holder of the seaside award, a nationwide standard for the best beaches across the UK.

Between the town’s beaches lies the River Arun, with yachts, fishing, diving boats, and from time to time the local lifeboat crew on exercise too! With its wide range of seaside park attractions, places to stay and events, this is a gem for family holiday or day out by the sea.

Many of Littlehampton’s annual events take place on the seafront or around the harbour including the annual Waterfront Festival (July), Family Fun Day, Carnival and spectacular Bonfire and Fireworks event (last Saturday in October).

Things to do in Littlehampton

• Seaside creativity - Build a sandcastle, create sand art or a rock sculpture before heading off to Littlehampton Miniature Railway.
• Walk along Littlehampton's harbour and enjoy boat and people watching
• Look out for the famously unusual East Beach Café, which was designed by the award winning Thomas Heatherwick who was discovered by Sir Terence Conran straight out of the Royal College of Art.
• Chill out to the coastal sunrise and sunsets and take in the salty sea air on the Longest Bench before your next adventure
• Have fun at the NEW!  Pirate Quest Escape Room at Harbour Park or try the Dodgems, Waltzers, Slides and Water Chutes. A Go Unlimited Wristband offers the chance for endless rides.
• Get competitive with some Crazy Golf - Buccaneer Bay Adventure Golf at Norfolk Gardens or try tackling the 9-hole Par 3 links style course.
• Take a stroll along the West Beach boardwalk with runs through a fenced strip of seaside dunes, protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The West Beach was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1995.
• Sing along to Sea Shanties at the annual Downs Folk music festival a stones throw away from Littlehampton in September - South Downs Folk Festival 2024 
• Join the silent discos, water sports and activities, movies and shows at Littlehampton Beach Club
• Try the Pedalos & boat hire or pop in to the Mewsbrook Park café which overlooks the boating lake.
• Sample the new restaurant Soul Bar and Kitchen
• A seaside visit isn't complete without Fish and Chips, or Mussel and Chips from Mussel Row with its fabulous view of Littlehampton Golf club and estuary with boats
