Kent
Borden is a village and electoral ward situated immediately south west of Sittingbourne, Kent.
Farming in the area is the main industry, although this has been in decline for many years due to the 'scrubbing; of most of the cherry and other fruit orchards
Today the village is growing with new houses and has greater ties with Sittingbourne. Many residents now commute to major towns or London to work.
Borden is clustered around the Parish Church which is a Grade I listed - that is a building of exceptional interest.
The church is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and is at least eight hundred years old.
Oad Steet Craft Centre is focused around a large showroom and restaurant/tearoom and has a vast range of presents for the whole family displayed.
The florist displays a large selection of arrangements in silk and dried flowers and will make to order as well as catering for wedding flowers
Sittingbourne's Steam Railway is the preserved southern half of the former Bowater's Industrial Railway and is just a short distance away from Borden.
