Ramsgate Lumiere

About

A new festival in Ramsgate will bring a vibrant, six week long celebration, illuminating the town from November 24.

The Ramsgate Lumiere will begin with the Ramsgate Christmas Lights switch-on and running until New Year’s Eve with a grand Lantern Parade, this event is inspired by the Ramsgate’s annual  harbour display with its  lit up boats bringing colour and light to this Royal Harbour.

The Christmas Lights Switch on takes place at 4.30pm. There will be Light projections and live music from 5pm to 8pm at St George's Church with local businesses invited to decorate and create light up window displays.

The festival begins with a short lantern parade leading to St George’s Church for the “Let There Be Light” event, featuring both interior and exterior light projections, live music and mince pies and will continue with feature commissioned artworks in the High street, using light and projections.

Ramsgate Lumiere will culminate in a New Year’s Eve Winter Lantern Parade from St George’s Church to the Harbour and onto the beach for an early celebration for all the family.
