About

What an Enigma!

Enigma was a machine used by Germany during World War Two to send top secret messages. It is one of the most famous codes broken at Bletchley Park.

Find out how different parts of the machine worked to create a strong cipher and have a go at breaking Enigma communications yourself. Set up one of our virtual Enigma machines and use it to create your own secret messages.

Families can make a rotor, set up a plugboard, have a go at cribbing or try to break our Enigma messages.

Suitable for Children 5-15. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

You can also pick-up your ‘TOP SECRET’ Mission Pack from Admissions and explore Bletchley Park solving various puzzles and challenges.

Don’t forget Under 12s go free, and your general admission ticket acts as an Annual Pass – giving unlimited free returns within a year!
