Celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III and the long Bank Holiday weekend with a host of royally themed events and activities.
Over the weekend, the expansive riverside grounds will come alive with music, face painting, lawn games for the family, a Street Food market serving delicious dishes from around the world, and bars serving a tempting selection of drinks including Pimms and Prosecco.

Painted Hall – late opening
5 May, 6-9pm
On the eve of the Coronation, the Painted Hall will stay open late with a special ‘Coronation Community Ticket’ price of only £5. (Tickets on sale soon)
Royal Tours
6,7 & 8 May, 12pm & 3pm, £7 – Book now
A specially curated Royal Tour will highlight royal connections with the site over the last 500 years from the Tudors to Charles III’s visits. It also highlights the many portrayals of the members of the Royal Family that have been filmed at the Old Royal Naval College, from The King’s Speech to The Crown.
Film & TV Tours also run Friday-Monday, 12.30pm & 2.30pm
Radio Coronation
4-8 May, 10am-5pm, free
Visit a world-class radio station, established especially at the Old Royal Naval College to broadcast celebratory Coronation messages to thousands of fellow amateur radio enthusiasts across the world. The messages set by shortwave radio, will be made possible by two impressive radio masts of 80’ (24.4m) and 40’ (12.2m) erected on Monument Gardens. Be part of this attempt to be make 14,000 contacts over the five days of operation – sit at the radio, take the microphone, and speak with people across the globe.
Tea Tasting and King’s Afternoon Tea
Saturday 6 May, 12pm, 12.45pm, 2pm & 2.45pm
Join a tea tasting followed by an afternoon tea fit for a King in the historical setting of Admiral’s House. (Tickets on sale soon)
Choral Eucharist for Coronation Sunday
Sunday 7 May, 11am
Join us in the Chapel of St Peter and St Paul as we celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort with a service featuring music by Purcell, Mozart, and Handel. (No need to book).
King’s Afternoon Tea
Sunday 7 May, 12.30pm, 1,15pm, 2.30pm, 3.15pm
A majestic treat to celebrate the Coronation in true British style with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of cakes & sweet treats. (Tickets on sale soon)
Sea Cadets Coronation Parade
Monday 8 May, Lower Grand Square, 1pm, free
450 Sea Cadets from across the UK, including their marching band, will parade in Lower Grand Square as a tribute to His Majesty The King. This rare spectacle will see 450 Sea Cadets joined by 100 colleagues the Army Cadet Force, the RAF Air Cadets, the Volunteer Police Cadets, St John Ambulance, the Fire Cadets, and Scouts; all from the London region.
The Big Help Out
Monday 8 May, 11am-3pm | King William Lawn
Highlighting the impact volunteering has on bringing together communities across the nation, and in tribute to His Majesty The King’s public service, we’ll be celebrating our own team of volunteers. There’s an opportunity to meet and chat to them and find out how you can get involved. Our staff and volunteer choir will perform a short set at 11.30-45am on King William Lawn.
