The gardens where landscaped for the 4th earl of Darnley by Humphrey Repton which included extensive tree planting, and The Gothic Diary, The Pump House. The grounds are a delight especially in spring, when the gardens and woods are resplendent with daffodils, narcissi and a myriad of rare bulbs.
