Looking for an Easter egg hunt to enjoy with all the family? With the Easter school holidays fast approaching, there's a whole host of egg-citing Easter events to enjoy over the two-week school holidays (1st - 16th April) here in South East England. We have pulled together ten Easter egg hunts and family-trails to help start your egg hunting fun, whilst enjoying a day out to some of the fantastic family attractions, towns and places to visit in the south east. You'll also find cute spring lambs, Easter crafts and lots of chocolate treats, to put a spring into your step. Make the most of the bumper Easter bank holiday weekend (7th April – 10th April) and celebrate Spring in a destination crammed full with events and stunning natural beauty. Canoe Easter Egg Hunt with New Forest Activities, Beaulieu, Hampshire (1st - 10th April)
This is an Easter Egg hunt in Hampshire with a difference! Enjoy some time on the water in an 'Canadian style' canoe before heading inland to hunt high and low along the banks of the river. Will you be able to find all the hidden chocolate eggs? There'll be a Easter egg for everyone taking part at the end - suitable for all ages, no experience required.
Easter Egg hunt at Petworth House and Park, Petworth, West Sussex (1st - 10th April)
Join the Easter fun at Petworth Park, where children can enjoy a traditional egg hunt in the stunning National Trust landscape. With over 700 acres of parkland to explore, and a chocolate treat to win, it's the perfect way to celebrate the season with family and friends. Booking in advance is recommended.
Big Easter Bunny Hunt at Waterperry Gardens, Nr Wheatley, Oxfordshire (1st - 16th April)
Join in the Big Easter Bunny Hunt around Waterperry's ornamental gardens. This Oxfordshire Easter Egg Hunt, will have you, searching, seeking and hunting out the hidden bunnies, just £3.00 per child with a prize – children must be accompanied by an adult for whom the garden entrance fee applies.
Easter Adventure Quest, Battle Abbey, Battle, East Sussex (1st - 16th April)
Hunts for clues and challenges, discover traditional Easter games and search out the Easter eggs around the grounds of famous Battle Abbey for a cracking Easter adventure. Receive an adventurer's certificate and a chocolate treat as your reward for completing this quest. Normal admission ticket applies plus £2 for quest.
Giant Easter Egg Hunt, RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey (1st - 17th April)
It's a larger-than-life Easter Egg hunt at RHS Garden Wisley - search out the giant oversized Easter eggs hidden around the garden and win a chocolatey prize. You'll also find seed planting and family crafts to enjoy, hop along and enjoy the wonders of springtime. 10 - 5pm daily, garden admission ticket required.
The Great Railway Easter Hunt at Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet, Isle of Wight (4th - 13th April)
Calling all ‘Chocolate Detectives’ it’s time to make like Sherlock and search out all things chocolatey, with the Great Railway Easter Hunt! Explore the island's scenic beauty, and win chocolate treats after you search for the giant eggs hidden around the attraction. Perfect for a fun-filled family day out.
Egg-travagana Easter Egg Hunt, Winchester Science Centre (1st - 16th April)
An Easter egg hunt with a difference! Search out eggs laid by animals that hatch from birds to creepy crawlies. This picture trail takes place around the Science Centre, if you find all the eggs, you'll be in for a delicious Easter treat. This is part of the centre's 'Boom and Bloom season' which includes the free live science show - Flower Power.
Discover Easter at Brogdale, Faversham, Kent (7th - 9th April)
Explore the orchards at Brogdale over the Easter weekend and discover beautiful blossom, cute farm animals and the Easter Bunny hopping in from time to time. This fun Kent Easter Egg Hunt will send you out hunting down giant Easter eggs hidden among the fruit trees whilst enjoying acres of space and plenty of fresh air.
Easter Weekend Fun, Chiltern Open Air Museum, Buckinghamshire (7th - 10th April)
Head along to the Chiltern Open Air Museum this Easter Bank holiday weekend and explore the 45-acres grounds scattered with historic buildings spanning 2,000 years including an Iron Age Roundhouse, a Victorian Farm, and a 1940's Prefab plus woodlands and a new adventure playground. Discover Easter traditions, take part in the Easter trail, see the baby lambs and enjoy some family crafts. All included in standard ticket price.
Children's Easter Trail at British Wildlife Centre, Lingfield, Surrey (9th April)
Hop on over for this popular Children's Easter Trail, it's free to admission tickets holders on the day. Enjoy spotting eggs that are hidden amongst the animals. Will they be amongst the foxes, in the red squirrel copse, or being guarded by Paula the polecat. Where will you find them?
