La Cenerentola at Longhope Opera

About

Longhope Opera is a festival held on the Longhope Estate in Newton Valence, Hampshire. Having impressed thousands of guests since 2019, Scherzo Ensemble return with their fourth production. This summer, we warmly invite you to a performance of Rossini's comedy 'La Cenerentola', an operatic version of the Cinderella story, on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July 2023.

Our doors open two hours before the show, allowing guests plenty of time to enjoy refreshments, take walks around the grounds, and listen to the various live chamber music performances on offer. A complimentary drinks reception follows, courtesy of Hogmoor Distillery, where guests can mingle and soak up the festivities before taking their seats in the auditorium.

After the first act, we will take a long dining interval of 90-minutes, during which time we invite you to enjoy one of our unreserved or reserved dining experiences.

After dinner, the opera continues as the sun sets, after which you are welcome to stay for digestifs until the grounds close at 10pm.

This year Hogmoor Distillery will be operating a bar for us, offering a range of refreshments including beers, wines, and several small batch hand crafted spirits from their local distillery.

Itinerary:
3pm – Grounds open (Secluded live music and walks)
4pm - Drinks reception
5pm – Opera begins (Act One)
6.30pm – Dining interval begins
