With five engaging museums situated in the historic site of Peninsula Barracks, and a sixth Museum located just outside the City, no visit to Winchester would be complete without visiting Winchester's Military Museums!
The six museums are:
HorsePower, the Regimental Museum of The King’s Royal Hussars
The Royal Hampshire Regiment Museum
The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum
The Gurkha Museum
The Royal Logistic Corps Museum
The Adjutant-General’s Corps Museum
Each museum offers a unique experience and has its own story to tell. There are fantastic collections of medals, paintings, uniforms, models, and military objects on display across the whole site, making a trip to Winchester’s Military Museums worth a visit.
For coffee, a light lunch, or afternoon tea, Joe’s Cafe can be found at the The Adjutant General’s Corps Museum.
Admission to The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum and The Gurkha Museum is £6.50, with discounts available for concessions. Admission to HorsePower is £5. Admission to all other museums is free.
A joint Winchester’s Military Museums Ticket is available from the museums with paid entry for £16, offering entry to all the museums.
Close to M3 motorway Park & Ride. Parking available at City car parks. Museums located at western end (top) of the High Street and close to The Great Hall.
The nearest railway station is Winchester Rail Station, which is approximately 0.4 miles from Winchester's Military Museums. Alternatively, there is a city bus station within ten minutes walking distance.
