Nestled in the heart of the Cotswold’s Golden Triangle, in the sleepy village of Nether Westcote, this charming 17th century inn has been restored with care, offering a perfect base from which to explore the idyllic Cotswolds. The picturesque towns of Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Norton are all within easy reach, with the mainline train located just a few miles away in the village of Kingham.
Sitting in a glorious position overlooking the Evenlode Valley, the far-reaching views can be enjoyed throughout the Inn, including from most of the guest bedrooms and The Cottage. The surrounding fields and bridal paths offer guests the option to explore on foot and enjoy the stunning landscape, whilst the spacious grounds of the inn encourage you to sit comfortably and enjoy the views with a drink of your choosing.
There are four sumptuous bedrooms, all individually decorated, en suite and combining quality antiques with modern art & furnishings, to ensure a stylish yet comfortable stay. The adjoining cottage was fully renovated in 2021 and offers a slice of modern luxury with a super king bed, spacious living/dining area, fully fitted kitchenette for self-catering, and free-standing bath with separate walk-in shower. Dogs are also welcome to stay in the cottage, which has its own enclosed garden, with dog beds and treats for furry friends.
Hospitality here is attentive & warm, with a relaxed atmosphere across the building. The culinary offering a key part of the Inn; award winning Head Chef Matt Weedon offers innovative, modern fine dining using the best quality, seasonal produce, with dishes changing regularly to reflect this. Menu options range from bar snacks to A la Carte to the 6-course Tasting Menu, and vegetarians are well catered for. The experienced bar team, led by lead mixologist Rui Duarte, offer a wide range of cocktails and extensive knowledge of the impressively large wine list, including many from unusual or smaller vineyards, which work exclusively with The Feathered Nest in the UK.
The Feathered Nest boasts numerous spaces to eat and drink, including the beautiful garden room and the light and airy dining room, both of which lead into the gardens. The interiors combine the contemporary and traditional, with warm muted tones, mismatched furniture and exposed wooden beams. When the sun shines guests can enjoy dining alfresco on the covered terrace, which offers stunning views across the Evenlode Valley.
